URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR OUR CAT SANCTUARY

We’ve just been notified that our cat sanctuary of 5 years is about to undergo extensive renovations, lasting 120 days. The entire building will be surrounded by scaffolding, and both internal and external pipes will be replaced. This means neither the inside nor outside spaces can be used. We were notified only three days ago. After meeting with management and government officials, we realised the ongoing noise, workmen coming and going, dust, and disruption will severely impact our cats. In short, they cannot stay.

We have until July 16th to relocate 8 cats. But where? We must pack up, clean and hand over the premises by July 29th or 30th.

We’re looking for premises in or around Sai Ying Pun or Sheung Wan, as well as foster homes for our friendlier cats. Once we find new premises, we’ll also need help transporting the cats, packing up, and moving everything we can from the old place. We’ll also need financial assistance to help cover transport, a rental deposit, and other relocation costs. We’re also seeking legal advice regarding compensation for the work we recently carried out to improve the premises for our cats. Had we been given proper notice instead of just a few days, we would never have invested in those improvements.
