The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day for a walk and just as well, because we were all there - dogs and people alike. Costumes galore, the walk was a good appetite builder and so the pies went down a treat - vegetarian of course and all in the theme of Halloween. I ate too much and noticed a few people enjoying a slice.. or 4!! Always a good sign!
The number of dogs who came to strutt their stuff with their proud adopters was more than heartwarming. And to see how many were there that we'd helped, rescued and rehomed. Like Monty, who was adopted as a tiny puppy and now the size of a camel - a middle-aged camel. He and his pack of canines and humans who came all the way from Lantau. Beautiful Kayla who has been to every Howl-O-Ween walk, though probably for the pies and not to see us, bah!
Our friends, fosters and supporters did us proud. Not forgetting our amazing volunteers who did an amazing job as always, and had a smile for everyone.
We may not have raised our target amount, but we did make $116,158.36 - not to be frowned at! I thank you all for making it a successful and terrific day! Special mentions to:
Catherine, Steve, Charlie, Nandin who took the amazing photos, all of which can be seen on Facebook to be appreciated.
Monica who did the money, and Kara who held Lili to let her do so.
Sophie who organised the walk, and got everyone and thing where they had to be.
Bernard who sponsored the lovely pies .
All the volunteers who were assigned tasks which they executed perfectly.
The biggest thanks has to go to Wendy who did more than anyone and took more grief than anyone as well! You did us proud Mrs, brilliant job - organising, collecting, packing, sorting, co-ordinating, listening and arranging.
Special thanks of course to everyone who kindly donated prizes and bag fillers:
