We’re happy to share that Darla is adopted!
She was bought from an unscrupulous breeder who really didn’t care about the dogs only the money he made from selling them. Darla was surrendered at the age of 7 to AFCD. She was in shocking condition from head to tail – not vaccinated or desexed, nothing of the basics done either. She had a bad ear infection, her coat dirty and yeasty, horribly smelly and painful ear infection. Her teeth, breathe gross and her hips I cannot imagine how painful the bones grinding together when walking. The icing on the cake she had heartworm!
She was, is the most adoring, loving dog you can imagine. Darla was adopted in this shocking condition by a supporter/ friend who couldn’t bear to see her suffer a minute longer. Our lady will finish her heartworm treatment tomorrow. She’ll be pain free for the first time in years. We know she’ll live out her life in comfort with other animals who are all loved, adored by their family. You know who you are and we’re eternally grateful for ending her misery.

Sponsors help care for dogs until they’re homed. All our dogs are given health checks, vaccinations, de-flea, worming, Heartguard, and a microchip. If needed, they are spayed or neutured. Some of our older dogs need ongoing medication and more frequent vet visits.
