POPPY

We’re happy to share that Poppy is adopted!

What an amazingly fortunate dog. She was surrendered at 12 yrs old, her back legs twisted and deformed making it very difficult to walk. Her back legs resemble frogs legs bless her and surgery not an option at her age. Had she been taken to the vet when she was a puppy she could have had surgery alas that boat has sailed!

All of this aside she’s a friendly, sweet gem of a dog who loves noting more than cuddle and a treat. We weren’t sure how long it would take to home her but we weren’t going to give up on her.

A home came along and she’s now living in what would be best described as a retirement home with 5 other dogs all who have health issues but manage very well and get all the love they want as well as good food, walks and attention.

She had a great foster home and was very much loved and cared for by Shirley and her helper – A BIG thank you to you both and to Chrissy for giving her a fantastic home.

Sponsors help care for dogs until they’re homed. All our dogs are given health checks, vaccinations, de-flea, worming, Heartguard, and a microchip. If needed, they are spayed or neutured. Some of our older dogs need ongoing medication and more frequent vet visits.
